Both ears have been pierced once, my navel was pierced in the mid 80's.
My left ankle has been tattooed twice, a wrap around piece and lettering in the Tibetan language. Tibetan, because I don't want anyone to read it.
Both upper arms are tattooed. Stories? Nothing interesting, except, perhaps the ankle, and as with what they mean to me, they're personal, and I'll leave it at that.

I don't mind. I have no tats or piercing to date, though I am thinking of having my ears pierced. Piercings are attention getting, and some look kinda nice and some make you wonder about the sanity -or state of inebriation- of those who have them.
No offense to anyone, but I was in the navy and I saw many tats on 20 and 30 year veterans, and ALL of them were dingy due to the aging of the skin from sun and just not taking care of themselves, and you just haven't lived -not- until you see tats on old, sagging skin distorted out of all recognition. And everyone ages and the skin gets new growth. What looks good at 30 looks like crap at 50. Maybe with laser skin rejuvenation and mechanical exfoliation one might be able to keep tats looking better longer, but so far as I know (and that is very little) no one has done any studies about how that works. And styles and standards change over time, and what is attractive in 2010 may be considered vulgar a few years later. Tattoo removal can be painful I am told, and even lasers may require more than one use to burn them off.
Just saying.

I have two holes in each ear.....one for an earring and one for auditory communication. My piercings were done while I was driving down the highway one day......"self inflicted" no less!! What a trip that was!
Pain you ask?? Nope....not really. Well.....the second hole in my second ear (trying to get them to match) WAS a little INTENSE! I recommend letting someone else do your piercing!
I've had so many friends with nose infections, ear cartilage damage and hot sex "accidents" that I've decided I don't need any more.
Tattoos?? Well.....I've seen a lot of cute ones that I thought I would want....maybe.....somewhere like an ankle, wrist, finger or neck. Then, there IS a friend that had an Arkansas Razorback tattooed on her breast when we were much younger.....it is now almost to to navel and no longer red...you can't even tell what it is.

OMFG DJ this is the first time I hear something like that! By yourself? Driving a car?? A MOVING CAR??? The things we do for beauty!
To be honest, when I'm old and gray whoever doesn't want to look at me can stuff it However, some sensible maintenance will probably be needed along the way and I understand that; also I'm sure there are areas that stretch more than others.
I'm 31 now, if I can look like this badass lady at 50, I'm golden.

both of my ears are pierced with double piercings.
I am tatted up on both arms from elbow to shoulder and on my left wrist.
My name Erica in arabic with flowers on my wrist which goes around my wrist and on my right arm there are flowers in Japanese style that covers 2/3 around my arm from elbow to shoulder.
On my right arm is custom designed work that is the flag from the Isle of Man and under it a Celtic Knot. Both Pieces were to remind me of my trip to the Isle of Man for Motorcycle Racing back in 2007. That was the week that changed my life. The Knot was found on a house in Castletown n the end of the building ......its awesme. Both Pieces on that arm are colored in grey and pink because I am a girl and the arabic is grey and pink as well . The flower tatts are blue, black, green, dark green, yellow, reddish pink and a light green. Awesomeness. There will be more ink as time goes by, my tattooist does it for free for me. He knows I have no money and thats ok with him. We are in the same motorbike club and we all help each other out as best we can. Last week I loaned my bike to him for a ride as his race bike which he had just spent 5k on cylinder head work dropped a piston at 150mph .That motor grenaded. He sourced another motor and is going thru it,but his bike is not running yet, so I loaned him mine. I must be completely fucking mad.

I had one ear pierced in the mid-60s. The old ice cube, needle and cork method. Pushed the needle through myself. No pain, but you could feel it crunch through the cartilage. EWWW. Just a suggestion, sort of. I have seen transitioners who otherwise were young and presentable have a great deal of trouble from very large, very masculine, very visible tats. I believe that it dramatically detracted from their pass-ability index. I am not a prude, but would urge caution to those who may wish to blend. Even "girl" type tats may bring unwanted inspection. Delicate forms that look good on slender arms don't so much on anyone who has experience testosterone poisening. I have none, as my father had marine corp tats on his forearms and he always wished he had stayed sober that day. I am thankful for that today, as it is one less point to cover up.
P.S. I know that it is a different world. I wouldn't want to inflict my sense of style, attitude etc. on anyone. I do hire, fire and promote people though, and read fairly extensively on how people make judgments about others in under 2 minutes. Just trying to leave a thought.
