You beat me to it!
Thanks Lanie!
I rarely watch Oprah.....caught it yesterday...was so overwhelmed with yesterday's emotional show that I forgot about the Kimberly story!
Looks like there's going to be some "mama drama"

Well, now that it's over, I think it is fair to say that it was an excellent piece. Mama and life partner were there to support Kimberly. From the preview, it sort of looked like "mama drama" but I don't think it really was, do you? In fact, she was able to keep the secret from ailing Dad for a year, and then to support her adult daughter when they told Dad after he was better.
My take on the show is that transitioning when you are younger rather than older can be done and leads to much satisfaction which otherwise would have been tragically lost.
What about the reunion? How do you think that went?
Would you go to your HS reunion after transition? You, DJ, I'm sure would be welcomed with open arms!!! One transwoman I know didn't go, didn't feel comfortable. One transwoman I know did go, but with trepidation. She, unfortunately has the type of personality that reacts with "What are you looking at???" (snarl). A little defensive. So, I give her credit for going. It went fine, of course.
